About Us
The Rockwell Group has been serving homeowners since 1983. We started designing and building custom homes in Anne Arundel, Prince Georges, and Calvert counties. In the 1980's our plans were drafted by hand on vellum; in 1994 we were one of the first small builders to begin using computer-aided drafting tools.
This region is blessed with the Chesapeake Bay, and many of our customers have waterfront homes. We understand how to design rooms to maximize the view, as well as the special considerations of walls of windows, extreme temperatures, and steady winds.
As a regional builder, we have been able to monitor the quality and craftsmanship of every home in a hands-on approach. Our people understand every part of building science.
We expanded our offerings into home renovations to be able to expand the homes of our previous customers. In Maryland, a contractor has to be licensed as a home improvement contractor to perform any home improvement work; we became licensed to service our new home customers and their friends and families. Now, we tackle unusual structural issues and complex additions.
Most recently, we have recognized the importance of conserving energy and have expanded our knowledge of building science into energy efficiency. We have tested over 450 new homes to verify compliance with EnergyStar requirements, developing an unmatched understanding of how to build a home for comfort.
